About Tea

Tea is a beverage made from the dried leaves of the Camellia Sinensis plant. Black tea, green tea, oolong and white tea all come from the same plant and it is the process itself after the leaves have been picked that determines what kind of tea it will be. People have been drinking tea in China since 141 BC. and in Europe tea is mentioned in writing for the first time in 1559.

All tea varieties have different ways of brewing both in temperature and brewing time. Teas such as green and white are sensitive to hot water and can cause the taste to lose its flavor nuances.

recommended brewing for the different teas

  • Black tea: 1 tsp=3-5 min-95-98 C
  • Green tea: 1 tsp=2-4 min-70-85 C
  • White tea: 1 tsp=3-10 min-70-85 C
  • Oolong: 1 tsp=2-5 min-75-85 C
  • Rooibos: 1 tsp 3-5min- 95-98 C

Rooibos, which is also called red tea, consists of leaves from the Roobios bush that grows in South Africa. Rooibos is caffeine-free than the other teas, which is good to drink in the evenings.

The health benefits of tea include detoxing the body, increasing immunity, losing weight, preventing heart disease and arthritis, reducing the risk of diabetes, delaying the aging process, hair loss, fatigue, depression and treating dental problems. There are also studies on many types of tea that it can reduce the risk of cancer. Some tea varieties are rich in antioxidants and vitamins.

Yerba Mate Is a caffeinated tea drink made from the yerba mate plant. Originates from South America. Yerba Mate is a very vitamin-rich and mineral-rich drink. Some examples of benefits are: Vitamins: A, C, E, B1, B2, B3, B5 Minerals: Potassium, magnesium, iron, selenium, potassium etc.

Fun facts: The most expensive tea in the world is the oolong tea Da Hong Pao, which is also called "Big Red Robe" and is considered a national treasure in China. The price? Up to 1.2 million dollars per kilo.

According to a Chinese legend, tea was discovered by Emperor Shen Nong around 2737 BC. Nong was both emperor and physician and known for experimenting with various plants and herbs. One day when he was boiling water under a tree some tea leaves blew into the water. The emperor tasted the water and found it both refreshing and medicinally beneficial.

Tropical Icecream°❀

This is one of my new favorites! It contains: White tea, candied papaya, apple pieces, natural aromas, rose buds, peach pieces and saffron flowers. it's a white tea with tropical tones with a sweet vanilla. It really tastes like vanilla ice cream with tropical fruits. Perfect now for spring and summer. This tea is truly 5 out of 5.Ps really good with chocolate it highlights the flavors really well.(˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧

✮🍈‘ Galia Melon‘୧ 🍵 ✮

One of my go to teas! It Contains: Green tea (China Sencha), Melon pieces, Candied Mango, Apple pieces, flavors and strawberry pieces. A really good and tasty melon tea: Not much to say, it's a green tea which I love that tastes like melon can't get any better(˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶) .ᐟ.ᐟ

Jasmine Tea🍵

Green tea with Jasmine is a classic. The tea has been brewed with Jasmine flowers, which give both fragrance and flavor to the tea leaves. The jasmine tea I buy, they say that they replace the jasmine flowers continuously during production. Jasmine tea tastes sweet, a little floral but not in a perfumey way. A tea that really lasts all year round.

Very Berry Banana•' 🍌*• ☆

Ingredients: Green tea from Kenya, aromas, strawberry Bites, raspberries, sunflower petals, banana pieces and apricot pieces. A green fruity tea with the taste of Strawberry Apricot and Banana. It's not that often you find banana tea! It's deliciously sweet and fruity and very banana-flavored. Those who like fruit tea will love this>⩊<

A Cracked Pink Teacupʚ🩷ɞ☕︎

Ingredients: Rooibos, strawberries, rhubarb, pink rosebuds, black darjeeling tea, heather flowers, rose pepper and aromas. A Rooibos tea with a taste of strawberries, rhubarb and cream. There was a time when I only drank this tea! Mom and Dad had bought the tea in a small farm shop. Sweet and many different flavors.The Rooibos itself is sweet.

Eggnog🥚🐰🐇🐣🌷

Ingredients: Green sencha and Gunpowder tea, calendula, saffron flower and aroma of Eggnog, Peach, Cream and Vanilla. Perfect for Easter but also Christmas. Eggnog is an alcoholic drink that you drink during the Christmas time with sugar, egg yolk and some kind of Alcohol in it. But I think the tea is perfect for Easter, it's fruity and sweet and perfect for spring. With eggs in the name, it works well for Easterꉂ (´∀｀)ʱªʱªʱª

Stockholm Blend💙💛

A black tea that is very fresh, fruity and rich in flavor. Contains: Black tea from India and Rwanda, peach aroma, sunflower petals, bergamot aroma, apricot aroma, mango/maracuja aroma and pineapple aroma. So I'm more of a green tea drinker. But I thought this one sounded interesting because there was peach, apricot and pineapple and all those flavors are my favourites. I think many of the teas I've written about here have Peach in them hehe( ｡ •̀ ᵕ •́ ｡) But then there's bergamot and Bergamot is not my favorite flavor in tea, it can become too perfumey and take over the other flavors. But in this tea, it doesn't do that, but gives a faint note of bergamot, which works great.
